How Can I Play Slo-pitch in Calgary?
The hardest part is trying to find a slowpitch team that you enjoy playing for.
Joining a Slo-pitch league in Calgary can be done a few different ways.

Calgary Sport & Social Club has opened registration for slo-pitch this fall in YYC!
Registration Deadline for CSSC Slo-pitch is September 9th 2015. You can choose your preferred days of the week to play, and the CSSC offers slow-pitch leagues for all skill levels!

Calgary Mixed Slo-Pitch League (or CMSL) was established in 1978 for ballplayers of all skill levels.
The 2015 season had already begun, but you can inquire here about joining CMSL for the 2016 season.

MRA Softball Calgary is a mixed slo-pitch league in Calgary, Alberta.
This league has two divisions and plays out of Shouldice athletic park; it runs from the last week in April until the second weekend in August.

Slo-Pitch National (SPN) began offering tournaments to Canada's Softball community in 1989. Your Softball team can fill out this application to become a member of SPN. Once your application is received you are considered a member! Yes, it's THAT EASY! Each team is provided with a current year rulebook, a current year Assumption of Risk & Liability Team Waiver/Roster form, and a subscription of the Slo-Pitch National Magazine. Members will have access to promotions throughout the year and are eligible to play in any of SPN's tournaments. Insured and Non-insured membership packages available.

Choosing a team name is usually something the founding members do. What's in a name? There are a lot of sports teams that exist in the world and each of them has a name. Sometimes there are duplicate team names. Sometimes the name is so creative you wish you would have thought of it yourself.
When it comes to slowpitch softball team names - specifically in Calgary, the need for eccentric or double-entendre team names seems common.
Fields of Filth - Calgary softball and slo-pitch team names disturb city councillors was a topic this past February.
This lead to the decision that any amateur sports teams playing on city of Calgary fields will have its name reviewed for offensiveness.

As you may notice, there are quite a few obvious sexual innuendos. Yet all teams are still displaying on SoftballCalgary.com and have no doubt been playing on city fields.
Let's all think of non-sexual slo-pitch team names from now on :)
